If your business needs a recognised Health & Safety accreditation such as Alcumus SafeContractor, CHAS, SMAS and other SSIP schemes (upon request), Louise provides the expertise to guide you through the application process. Louise has achieved a 100% pass rate for businesses just like yours. Why not give your business the edge with recognised SSIP accreditation? Small businesses that become Health & Safety assessed with a recognised SSIP scheme, satisfy the criteria for all other SSIP members’ schemes – thus saving you from paying multiple assessment fees. The main aim of SSIP membership is to reduce duplication and costs for both buyers and suppliers.
WHICH HEALTH & SAFETY ACCREDITATION DO YOU NEED?
There are many other H&S accreditation schemes available.
Choose the best one for your business needs, and then you can apply for SSIP.
CHAS (The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) was created by experienced health and safety professionals in 1997 to improve health and safety standards across the UK.
SMAS H&S Certification Scheme provides management of contractor H&S assessments. Valid SSIP means that a contractor has demonstrated their capability by meeting the SSIP ‘core criteria’.
The Alcumus SafeContractor scheme is a SSIP-approved health and safety assessment scheme for contractors who want to demonstrate that they’re taking responsibility for their legal health and safety requirements.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Louise deals with the whole application process and lets you get on with running your business.

At the end of the application process, Louise will provide all of your documentation in an electronic version for you to save on your system.
Louise can also provide a support agreement to help you with the annual renewal application or when your documents expire and have to be updated on the portals
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
The cost will depend on the size and complexity of your business and what needs to be implemented to comply with the accreditation application process. Louise will discuss this with you and provide a detailed proposal for you to consider.
Please note you will also have to pay the awarding bodies’ accreditation fees. These costs can be found on their websites.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
When you accept your proposal, Louise will let you know the next available slot for the work to be completed.
Please note that Louise has no influence over the timescales from the accreditation bodies, and this will depend on the waiting lists they have for assessment at that particular point in time.
Why Get Accredited?
Companies who achieve SSIP accreditation demonstrate to existing and potential new clients that your business places an important emphasis on health and safety.
Who Do I Work With?
Positive About Business works with many different types of companies, across a range of industry sectors. We consider the construction industry to be a particular speciality.
GREAT CLIENT FEEDBACK
One of the best marketing tools for a small business is first class feedback from happy business owners, however, word of mouth referral is how I obtain 90% of my client base. And I think that speaks volumes.
Ekko Waste Solutions appointed Louise from Positive About Business to assist us with our annual CHAS Certification renewal. With Louise’s professional help, we managed to sail through the renewal process with minimal fuss and, at the same time, implement some positive tweaks to our Health and Safety procedures that will be beneficial to our business going forward. Ekko plan to continue working with Louise from Positive About Business in the future, and would recommend her services.Robin Murray
